I haven’t said this anywhere else other than to my own family because honestly, I’m so sick of hearing about this story. But . . . Tiger hasn’t been hiding these escapades. True that it has stayed out of the press but he’s made no effort to truly hide it.
I worked in a sales position for a short time in a coastal community in the south. I happened to spend a fair amount of time at the General Aviation side to our little airport because of that job. Tiger flew in there with women other than his wife. It was openly discussed and in fact, a regular and accepted thing. This was long before their was even a hint of this in the news (several years).
My only reason for writing all that is that I truly believe Tiger believes his own press. He has heard for too long and in a constant refrain that he is this god like athlete. The best of the best. He makes (made) ridiculous sums of money. And I’m certain that people were falling all over themselves to ensure he got his way. Whatever it was. I’ve been around people like that in one other of my jobs that catered to athletes and entertainers. And I honestly believe that they become convinced of their invincibility.
I have heard here and there that Tiger is blaming a sex addiction for his behavior. Maybe so. But I think it’s more likely that his pride and ego became so inflated, he believed he was entitled to whatever he wanted—hood rat or not. That may not answer why the average dude would chase after women like that. But with Tiger, he was just going after whatever it was he was entitled to.
