The Stars of today meet the stars of tomorrow at this unique show from Festival Ballet Theater. And I have tickets to give away, just comment at my OC Family blog saying that you want to go this Friday at The Barclay.
The show is for all ages and a rare opportunity with national guests artists from San Francisco and beyond. Festival Ballet Theatre attracts the best in professional dance to its home base while sending its own dancers out as artistic ambassadors to the world.
I caught up with Lana Brooks, FBT Artistic Advisor. Here’s what she had to say about the show and a look at the upcoming performance:
The Gala of the Stars, in association with Youth America Grand Prix, showcases these talented emissaries of dance and displays the development of distinguished dancers in the world of ballet. This special invitational dance festival features young dancers as well as up and coming artists and world renowned performers.
Youth America Grand Prix, the world’s largest student scholarship competition, will be bringing top award-winning dancers from their selective competitions.
Guest Artists for the Gala:
Daniil Simkin, American Ballet Theatre soloist
Lorena Feijoo, San Francisco Ballet principal
Vitor Luiz, San Francisco Ballet principal
Tickets: $40 general; $25 children & students available at thebarclay.org
(VIP Tickets also available at $100 for adults and $80 for students, inludes a dinner buffet with a glass of wine at Britta’s Cafe, a chance to mingle with the Star Dancers and the up and coming stars from the Gala performance.)
